Is Birmingham in the north or south?

If someone ask if I'm from North Or South, I usually say neither but someone said that Birmingham is in the South. Confused

There's no set boundary between the north and south of England. Birmingham is officially considered the Midlands for most purposes, but some people may have different opinions.

I have never heard anybody label Birmingham as North or South. It's definitely Midlands.

That is the trouble seen when trying to lable something it is not. Birmingham, England is midlands, neither north nor south. It would be like asking is Singapore north or south. It's on the Equator. It is neither.

Assuming Birmingham England, as Birmingham Alabama US, is most definitely considered south, then you come from neither. You are from the midlands.

just down the road from brum is a place called meriden ...meriden is the centre of England ...so as its less than 5 miles away I would settle for the midlands
